DANCING ALONE: JARCOO POEMS

JARCOO POEMS

We were three who start his dance
But now I'm doing it alone
We were three who started this singing
But now I'm doing it alone

      When we started this dancing
There was no cloud in the sky
      When we started this swimming
There were no sharks in the ocean

When we started this singing
There was no rain in the cloud
When started this dancing
There were no thorns in the playground

But now, at the middle of the road
at the winking of the road
at the belly of the eye
at the zenith of the dance
                I am doing it alone
                I am walking it alone
                I am going it alone
                I am dancing it alone

When we started this cracking, Ademo
Thee was no stone in the shell
          When we started this digging
There was no rock in the meadow

When we started this seeking, Woodbo
We had no specks in the eyes
When we started this weeding
We had no burns, no blisters

But now, at the middle of the road
at the winking of the road
at the belly of the eye
at the zenith of the dance
               I am doing it alone
               I am walking it alone
               I am going it alone
               I am dancing it alone

Tell me the secret of the lion's limbs
Tell me the truth of the baboon's bottom
Tell me the secret of the jackal's jaw

For now, at the middle of the road
at the winking of the eye
at the belly of the ocean
at the zenith of the dance
               I am courting them alone
               I am seeking then alone
               I am probing them alone
               I am hunting them alone

Ademo, with the hungry ground so slippery
Wokobo, with the thirsty sea so smooth
Ademo,  with thorny way so windy
Wokobo, with the dreadful wind so kind
               I am doing it alone
               I am walking it alone
               I am walking it alone
               I am going it alone
               I am dancing it alone

          When we started this fishing
There were no whales by the shore
          When we started this threshing
There was no sting in the grain.

When we started this dancing
We had no cold, no fever
When we started this singing
There was  one pain in the eardrum

But now, at the middle of the road
at the winking of he eyes
               at belly of the ocean
at he zenith of the dance
               I am singing it alone
               I am doing it alone
               I am going it alone
               I am dancing it alone.
